Voices of Donation
Kaylynn Jennings
Kaylynn Jennings races motocross in the D6 Ultimate Quad Series and ATVMX Nationals. A motocross accident at age 16 kept her from pursuing her passion.
"I was in first place when I bumped tires with another bike, which threw me into a 15-foot embankment," Kaylynn explained. The injuries were so severe, she was transported to a hospital via helicopter. She was initially unable to walk but was scared to have surgery.
"During that time, I was in constant pain and experienced frequent dislocations of the knee. To limit these dislocations, I needed to wear a hip-to-ankle brace at all times," she says.
Unable to compete and do everything like she used to, Kaylynn accepted the option of surgery three years later. After her tissue transplant, she feels like she is back to her old self and has no pain. Kay resumed motocross racing and competed in her first race in March 2024.
The gift of tissue donation gave Kay mobility back and allowed her to continue competing without pain. She is pursuing a career as an X-ray Technician and enjoys spending time on the track as much as possible. Kay's personal goal is to teach younger females that they can achieve the same results with consistency and the drive to succeed.
