Director of R&D and Clinical Affairs, Metals
Weston Pernsteiner was named Director of R&D and Clinical Affairs, Metals in August 2020. He previously served as Director of R&D Metals since December 2019. In his role, he oversees RTI Surgical’s new product development and product sustaining teams for all hardware products, including the roles of: project management, lead system design, design engineering, design transfer engineering, packaging engineering and microbiology. Pernsteiner joined RTI in 2004 as a design engineer, eventually working in project management, systems design and management before taking on his current role. Over the past few years, he has worked to apply a structured product development process, design for six sigma tools, risk management updates, usability and re-use processes that ensure customer needs are met with consistent execution.
Pernsteiner earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
